The holiday season is upon us! This often means reflecting on what we are thankful for, gathering with friends and family, and looking ahead to our plans for the new year. For many in our community, though, the past two years have been challenging and they are struggling with the day-to-day necessities of supporting their family. Having holiday celebrations or giving gifts to their children is not possible and this season can be particularly stressful.
Thanks to the generosity of people like you, the Santa Barbara Police Activities League will be creating a Winter Wonderland for the 21st year for local families who need a little extra help this holiday season. Beyond providing gifts for the children, the Winter Wonderland evening creates the opportunity for families to relax, celebrate, and just be together. This is often the greatest gift of all.
Maria (name changed) was diagnosed with cancer and has been on dialysis for years now. Attending the holiday event was not only special because her daughter received a gift, but because it was a break from the stress of her illness. Maria saw her daughter have the first legitimate smile in a very long time.
The Winter Wonderland walk-through will be outdoors this year, allowing families to take pictures, safely interact with our local police officers, and receive personalized gifts and DIY holiday kits. Each family will arrive at an assigned time to ensure that this is a safe and fun event for all.

There are three ways you can help:
Adopt - A - Family: This is an opportunity for individuals, teams, companies, and organizations to reach out and lift up those in need, either through direct adoption or financial contribution. Your gift, large or small, makes a difference! Please return the form below as soon as possible, and we will send the relevant information (children’s ages, sizes, and special requests they may have) back to you. We work with families of all sizes, from single parents or grandparents with one child to large blended families sharing an apartment, so we can accommodate almost any request. When you adopt a family, we ask that you provide one age-appropriate, unwrapped gift for each child, with a suggested retail price of $30. You choose the family size (some donors provide more and many include something for the adults, but this is not required). Gift cards are also welcome for older children (14-17).
Host a Gift Drive: Host an “Adopt a Family” Drive: This is a great way to build community and get everyone involved, whether it be in the office or with friends and family! All drive donations (gifts/ gift cards) must be delivered by December 10th between 9-5pm.
